Bike Servicing FAQ
If you are not experienced in bike servicing, it is normal to have doubts.
Generally, we recommend to do a Bronze service on your bike when it has been unused for a while but the previous condition was good.
Stored bikes which haven't got the components worn (or rusty) or new bikes which need a professional safety check. Those bikes don't need disassambly in order to get them prepared.
This is the most common bike service. If you ride your bike often, you can expect to have at least two of this services per year.
You can expect some parts to be worn with the usage. The most commons can be your chain, cassette, cables, brake pads and tyres.
Removing your drivetrain to fully degrease it will make a big difference on your riding and components durability.
This service is required generally under two main scenarios. When you have concerns about the bike such second hand purchases or when your bearings in the headset, bottom bracket or wheels give you problems (stiff, play, etc).
On this service we will disassambly, clean and rebuild your bike from scratch.
We don't repair the bike on your selected slot. This slot (15min) is for us to make sure we've got the time to spend with you assessing the bike.
As well, it allow us to manage our workload in order to get our target of same day repair.
We understand you don't have to be a bike specialist, no problem. Just book a general assessment on the top menu, or whatever service you have selected.
We will assess the bike with you in store and we will let you know which is the service what better cover your needs.
We've got in store the most common stock. With this stock we can repair around 90% of the bikes we receive. This stocks include cassettes, chains, pads, inner tubes, etc.
However, if your bike requires specific components we can order it for you. The delivery times (although it doesn't depend on us) usually takes 2-3 working days.
Then you'll have two options, leave the bike with us or keep riding and rebook once we've got the component.
Yes, we offer courtesy bikes. The availability of them can be limited.
If you definitely need one, give us a call or contact us in advance in order to keep one for you.
You will pay for your bike once it's ready for collection and you pick it up from the shop.
If in order to repair your bike, we need to order a very unusual part, you may be asked to leave a small deposit for it.
